Abortion Pill Name And Price:
The abortion pill procedure uses the combination of two pills.
The first pill is Mifepristone (Mifeprex, Mifegyne, RU 486, French Pill).
The second pill is Misoprostol.
How Do Abortion Pills Work?
Mifepristone works by blocking the hormone Progesterone which is responsible for maintaining the growth of the pregnancy. This causes separation of the fetus from the wall of the Uterus (womb).
Misoprostol is a Prostaglandin E1 that causes Uterine contractions. This in turn causes vaginal bleeding and the fetus to be expelled.
Where Can I Find An Abortion Pill Clinic That Performs The Procedure Up To 14 weeks?
When women search the phrase “Abortion Pill Providers Near Me”, they will soon note that most abortion pill clinics do not go beyond 10 weeks of pregnancy.
We have been offering patients from 3 to 14 weeks this service at our Women’s Center of Hyde Park office in Tampa; and our Center of Women office in Orlando office for more than 12 years.
The advantages of our Abortion Pill Clinic are the minimal amount of time required to spend in the office; the ultimate privacy of this procedure; and because patients may decide where they choose to have the abortion and with whom they wish to have with them during the abortion process.
The abortion pill process consists of having routine urine and blood lab tests performed which includes a pregnancy test, determination of whether or not the patient is anemic and the Rh typing.
Is The Abortion Pill Safe?
The Abortion Pill Is Highly safe. The chance of maternal death is less than 1:175,000 procedures. A full term delivery has a 11 to 14 higher chance of maternal death.
Abortion Pill Experience At Our Women’s Center:
After arrival at our Abortion Pill Women’s Center offices, women are given paperwork to fill out and review. These forms include through history and consent for the abortion procedure and birth control.
Lab work consists of collecting urine and blood for pregnancy test, blood count checking for anemia and Rh factor.
A counseling session occurs that discusses the benefits and risks of the abortion procedure.
A Sonogram (Ultrasound) is done to determine the weeks of gestation and that the pregnancy is inside the Uterus.
Mifepristone and Misoprostol Are Taken Simultaneously.
The Misoprostol tablets may be inserted vaginally, taken by mouth, placed between the cheek and tongue (buccal) or underneath the tongue (sublingual).
Uterine contractions may begin as soon as 15 mins after taking the Misoprostol tablets and Vaginal bleeding within 2 to 4 hours.
How Long Does It Take For The Pregnancy To Pass?
The pregnancy tissue is expelled on an average of 4 to 8 hours after the medications are given. Approximately 50 % of fetal tissue passes in 3 to 4 hours and 90% do so within 24 hours.
Do You See The Fetus When It Passes?
Pregnancies that are 6 weeks or less cannot be visualized with the naked eye.
7 to 8 week pregnancies generally may have a gel like substance when the tissue passes
A 9 week to 14 week fetus can be seen with the naked eye. It is never recommended that the fetal tissue be seen.
Just prior to the tissue passing there is an increase in the lower abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. Once the fetus passes through the vagina the significant abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding decreases.
