Abortion Pill After Care After Taking Mifegyne And Misoprostol:

Women who are 6 weeks or less pregnant may engage in sexual intercourse the same day after passing of the pregnancy tissue.

Breast feeding may resume 12 hours after taking the last Misoprostol tablets.

Women should follow-up with their medical personnel for a pregnancy test and sonogram 2 to 4 weeks after completion of the abortion procedure.

Birth Control Measures:

Ovulation may occur 5 to 7 days after an abortion procedure. Sperm can live up to 5 days. Thus it is imperative to use or begin some form of birth control immediately after undergoing the Abortion Pill Process.

There are Abortion Pill Clinics that give Emergency Contraception (Morning After Pill) Free. It diminishes the chance of becoming pregnant 96% when taken immediately after the unprotected event.

Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg is the pill most commonly used in the US for Emergency Contraception. It works mainly by preventing or delaying ovulation and causing the cervix (opening to the womb) to secrete a thick mucus. This prevents the sperm from swimming pass the vagina to reach the egg near the ovary for fertilization to occur.

Emergency Contraception is given away Free at a few Abortion Clinics in the US. It is important for reproductive age women to have it available at all times (purse or medicine cabinet).

Every hour delay reduces the chance of pregnancy prevention. There appears to be protection to becoming pregnant if the Morning After Pill is not taken until the 5th day after the unprotected event.

In Summary;

The Abortion Pill Process using the combination of Mifegyne (Mifeprex, Mifepristone, RU 486, French Pill) and Misoprostol (Cytotec) can be used to terminate pregnancies in the first and second trimesters of pregnancy (3 to 24 weeks or further).

Mifegyne works by stopping the growth of the pregnancy. Misoprostol works by causing the uterus to contract and expel (pass) the fetal tissue.
