Free Pregnancy Tests | Orlando Women’s Center

At our Women’s Center’s, we perform urine pregnancy tests for free during our normal business hours. Our offices are open 6 days a week.

It is preferable to call and make an appointment to assure not to cause any inconvenience.

When Should A Pregnancy Test Be Performed?

The earliest a pregnancy test can be positive is approximately 7 to 10 days after conception. That is the time when the ovum (fertilized egg) implants into the Uterine wall. This generally occurs on day 22 to 24 of a woman’s cycle.

In order to detect being pregnant at day 22 to 24 of a cycle requires drawing blood and ordering a test that is highly sensitive in detecting the pregnancy hormone; Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG).

If a woman requests this blood test, our offices will concur. The test is expensive and thus we must charge a fee.

The pregnancy test used in our offices can detect a pregnancy as early as 4 to 5 days prior to a woman missing her period (Day 25 to 26 of cycle). The majority of women do not suspect they are pregnant until after they miss their period or shortly thereafter.

Signs of early pregnancy include increased sensitivity to smells, frequent urination, change in vaginal secretions, increase in nipple sensitivity, decrease in appetite and nausea.

How Long Does It Take To Get The Test Results?

Test results are normally available within 5 minutes of obtaining your urine specimen.

What Happens With A Positive Pregnancy Test?

Most women are very happy when the results of the pregnancy test return positive. It is a time for joy. Our Offices do not do Prenatal Care so we encourage women to contact their personal Physician as soon as possible to make an appointment.

For the 22% of women who are pregnant and will terminate their pregnancy, a brief discussion takes place regarding the benefits and risks of having an abortion. This includes the difference between the surgical vs abortion pill procedure, the option of adoption and keeping the pregnancy.

What If A Patient Is Unsure Of Her Last Period Or The Number Of Weeks She Is Pregnant?

A pregnancy ultrasound (sonogram) can be performed to determine the number of weeks pregnant a woman is. If she wishes to have an abortion at our offices, the cost of the sonogram will be credited towards the pregnancy termination fee.

How Soon Can An Abortion Be Scheduled?

We understand that having an unwanted pregnancy can cause anxiety, nervousness, fear, restlessness and unease. An unintended pregnancy is an emergency situation for many women.

We will do our best to schedule the abortion the same day or the following day after having the pregnancy test performed.

We know that after having an abortion is associated with immediate relief, guilt and reprieve for the majority of women. They are thankful for being able to get the help and support in one of the most difficult times in their life.

Please call us today to schedule a free pregnancy test.
